Our Impact…

I cannot recommend Bornwell enough. They are a staple for you and your newest addition. Every member of their team provided such amazing support for our family. They were all professional, loving, and committed to our daughter. Being able to sleep through the night, confident that our daughter was in good hands, was the biggest game changer for adjusting to life with a newborn. They also helped with things around the house (folded laundry, prepped and washed bottles, etc) which allowed us to spend quality time together and take a nap or two.
As RNs, they were able to offer advice and tips from their decades of experience. Their day time support was also great and significantly expedited my recovery process.
Emily and her team are amazing and we are so grateful to have had them throughout the first few months.

“Excellent class. I thought it would be a rehash of stuff I had read in books but it was all new information gleaned from Emily’s 15 year career as a NICU nurse. It gave us inside information and some confidence to advocate for ourselves in the hospital. We also hired Emily’s nurses for night nursing for our baby due 8/2023, and the nurse we met were great. We live out in the country and we were nervous we wouldn’t be able to find a nurse but Emily found us two!”

“If you’re contemplating booking with Emily - just do it! Due to some medical complications at the beginning of my baby’s life and a tongue tie my milk supply dropped to almost nothing. Emily helped identify the tongue and lip tie and put us in contact with a great dentist to address the issue while also helping me build back what part of my supply was salvageable. Emily helped save our breastfeeding journey when I thought it was completely over. Her years of experience gave me full confidence in her knowledge base. But it’s her caring heart and calming nature that truly sets her apart. If you’re expecting don’t be like me and wait for hospital lactation staff to set you up for success, go schedule a prenatal visit and a follow up with Emily so you’re already surrounded with all the resources to get your breastfeeding journey off to a strong start!”

Our family used Bornwell for both lactation and night nurse services. Emily Middleton, IBCLC, is down to earth, practical, and solution-oriented when it comes to providing lactation support. Our night nurses were professional, responsible and extremely caring. I can’t praise Mary Ellen enough. She genuinely cares about the babies she cares for, and is a neonatal nurse practitioner and is extremely knowledgeable and qualified. Our family was blessed to have her and I knew our baby was in good hands! Kala, another night nurse that we worked with, is a postpartum Doula and provides the most tender, compassionate care for mom and baby. Bornwell is an excellent resource for Columbia new moms. We are lucky to have something like this in our community and I’m thankful that I was able to utilize the services to make the postpartum experience a little easier.

“I can not say enough good things about Emily and her team. When I had my first baby, I had never experienced that level of chronic sleep deprivation and I am a physician who has done many overnight call nights. It was really taking a tole on my mental health. Not to mention my baby would only sleep when someone was holding her and despite my best efforts I could not get her to sleep in the crib on her own for any consistent amount of time. My midwife told me about Emily and her nighttime care service. I called and requested bookings that same day. The nurses that work with her are all experienced RNs and the ones who came to my home also had children of their own so I felt comfortable right away leaving my baby girl with them while I got some much needed rest. Emily and her team have not only helped me get rest but also worked with Sophia to get her to sleep in her crib for 4 hours stretches at a time at night within the course of only one week! I recommend her services to anyone in the Columbia area. If I have another baby, I am going to arrange for her lactation consultation and night time nurse service ahead of time. Emily and her team have really been a godsend.”
